Hi Friends;
I received this from a friend who, while staunchly democrat, is yet a hunter. He believes in the right of Americans to own firearms, but also has the use of logic and rational thinking - so believes it is appropriate to instill some small measures of control into the process.
My problem with the article is that it holds somewhat inherent the very same attributes as those other "truth-teller" writers: it is a written article in a publication. Seems an odd statement, I guess, but I've become so dismally uninspired by the rampant bs coming from the "fair and balanced" news mongers, that I just don't know who or what to believe.
Nonetheless, here is the article. I hope you enjoy it and find it informative, especially in light of the arguments and assertions/allegations being tossed about. (click here for article)

Hallo Randy,
The arms trade is a classic case for the immoral way of thinking of capitalism - wir sagen: "hauptsache die Kohlen stimmen" (the main thing is there are enough coals (coal = money).
Germany has been trying for years to sell to Saudi Arabia 200 - 300 Leopard 2 tank - without the act of Parliament - on a secret mission - in an undemocratic country.
Now, should the deal be handled by Spain, which have a license.
Weapons should be banned worldwide!
When my father returned from the WW2, he never took a gun in his hand - not even at the carnival!
Gruß Nikki
Hi Nikki;
I am a firm believer that a gun is simply a tool. No different than a hammer, it is designed to do one thing. Yet there are some who are so wrapped up in hate, greed, and whatever else that they see the taking of a life as a simple expedient, a means to an end rather than a tragedy of the highest standing.
My thought on guns is that it is mindless, without will. It is the person behind the gun that is the problem, and until we change that there will always be something - be it a gun, a hammer, a knife, or a bomb for that person to weild.
Yet, on the surface, I do agree with you.

Sorry Randy, I have been playing house spouse, so I did not get to your post. How ever, I think the saddest thing is that if people knew that this is a made up scandal they would be furious. Then tell them that this was a operation from G. Bush and it would cause them even more pain.
Fact. They tried to do a good thing. It did not go well as we the public know it. Happens. But the fact is it is not killing many toddlers, but a good faith effort to fix a problem. Not all fixes work. And then they stopped it. Unlike those who want to give out more tax cuts to rich people , which is why we are were we are now. Hugs.
Hi Scottie;
I guess the strange fact is, truth is relative in an election year. Fact is unnecessary, and if outright lies and bs score points, who cares who it hurts.
Damned politicians ought to be ashamed of themselves.
hugs;
randy
