In this adult blog, it is my hope that you find things that make you think, give you opportunity to voice your opinion, and allow us to be a community of people who care - even if from afar - for eachother. Be welcome and let your heart be heard.

Even the best things must end....
Because even the best of things must end, I guess I'm ok with it. But, I hurt for a long time.....
I have gone separate ways of the rescue organization with whom I so enjoyed working alongside. My poor Gracie was the recipient of many hugs, and I think she is still unsure of what the wall did to receive such a punch.
But, knowing that I gave my best to them, that I did nothing wrong, and knowing that they have actually shown themselves to be very concerned about the welfare of the animals and not very concerned about the welfare of people, I am ok leaving. I will take the wonderful lessons, the great memories, and the strength that I learned working with them. I leave them themselves.
I will miss the dogs, though.

Hello Randy
I'm sorry to hear that you've had to leave a place you found so fulfilling. I hope you find something to fill the void, sooner rather than later.
Love & best wishes
Sammy B
That's too bad, Randy. What happened? (if you care to share)...
If your area is anything like mine, there are plenty of orgs that help animals, you should be able to find another one to give your time and love to. (In fact, there's probably more that help animals than help LGBTQ youth! Yeah, that's a bit of an editorial statement.)
Peace <3
Jay
Hi Sammy and Jay;
thank you both for your kindness. I think I am going to move on to other things. For now, that particular well has been poisoned, and I'd prefer to find something different. Otherwise, I will be running into the same people over and over... not really able to move on from pain if I'm still in the same environment.
Maybe I should do like you, Jay? I need to get myself back into shape. Or, perhaps into less of a shape!
Hugs!
randy
I'll bet if you look around, you'll find something fun, cool, and needed. Me, after 30 years with the boy scouts, now counsel LGBTQ youth. I'm sure there are other things (Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Special Olympics - who always need communicators for their events, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, the list goes on) if you don't want to be in the LGBTQ community, but there are definite needs!

Hello Randy. I love your "forgive others.." saying. I find great wisdom in it. It reminds me of this story..or versions of it..http://spiritsinharmony.blogspot.com/2008/02/two-monks-carry-woman.html
Randy you have such creativity and such energy, such drive, I have no doubt you will soon find interesting and fulfilling ways to give back, to help out, I guess to simply be the great, grand man you are. In each of us is a spirit, maybe a word that means human...yours shines wonderfully. and I love you for it.
Hugs little brother.
Thank you, Scottie;
I did look up the link. We so often do that, don't we? We so often continue to carry our grudges, our offended feelings repeatedly exercised and bled.
Thank you for the wisdom and the encouragement. I don't know what I am going to do.... I didn't set out to do the rescue, it more like came to me. Perhaps that is the future as well: something will come to me. I just have to be open to it.
Hugs;
randy
Hi Jay;
Yeah, there's need out there. Don't know where I am going to put my time yet. Like I told Scottie (above), the rescue stuff sort of found me. I'll try to keep myself open, though.
hugs;
randy
