The Horror of Cold Hearts

Hello My Friends;

  This little dear is our newest addition at the rescue organization.  She is 5-weeks old, which is too young to be separated from her mother, and was rescued from a snow bank on Saturday 1/26.  Yes, my friends - in Michigan, in January, some jerk threw out this little baby.
  I want to hurt someone.
  Why don't people understand that there are other ways?  There are no less than three volunteer rescue organizations in this county, not counting the Humane Society and Animal Control.  Further, most who owns a pet would have taken this puppy in rather than see it die in the cold.  But, some heartless wonder decided to simply throw it in the cold.
  But, the good news:  We had two applications put in on her today.  In a very short amount of time, this baby will be in a home, with people who love her and who she can love.

  I read a comment today about someone talking about how certain people are a perversion, bringing about the sure judgement of an angry god.  Do you want to know my opinion?  It isn't about who you love, only that you love.  Only that you care.  Only that the hope of life lives in your heart.  Only that you wouldn't throw a baby in the snow to die.  I think that's what God wants from us.

My second dog, Bullwinkle, was a "snow bank" rescue in a way. He was tossed out of a car into the snow with his brother and mother. A friend of my sister, at about 12 years old, caught the puppies because they could not keep up with the fleeing mother. I wound up with Bull. BEST DOG IN THE WORLD and I'm just thankful that Susan was outside playing in the snow when they were tossed.

Hi Jay;
I've always been of the opinion that dogs who are rescues are the best dogs. There is a certain awareness of the 2nd chance they've been given, a rememberance of the cold and being lost and abandoned.
I've had two dogs in my life; both were rescues. Both have been fantastic dogs.
But why, Jay, do people do this crap?

Hi, Randy!
My dogs were the BEST! Both had issues, but with good training, and them knowing who was alpha, it all was perfect.

I could write a long post about my dogs. I know I've touched on it on my blog.

As to your question...who knows? Evil & indifference exists in all parts of humanity.

On to another subject...are you thinking about joining us at Spo-a-Thon? There's a huge suite that 6 or more of us could share.

I swear that we seem to be on the same page of life. Do you use any chat apps? I do MSN (jaygeemmm@hotmail.com), Google (jaygeemmm@gmail.com - also my email) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/j.g.tm1)...love to hook up virtually if you want to.

Peace <3

Hi Jay;
I'll send you an email soon. Right now I'm about 6-feet under with work from the rescue adoption day today.
I'm interested in this Spo-a-Thon, but I'm completely lost on it also. I have no idea what it is, where, when. So, don't know if I can make it. I'm still working through my closet issues, very very few know of my orientation - though oddly I'm coming to care less and less who does know. Maybe that magical point is coming? Either way, I've a long road ahead of me, but I'm feeling good about it.

AWESOME! My email is on my blog at jayinva.blogspot.com. (actually, it's two comments up!)

I understand your trepidation, believe me, I do. But if you do decide to come, you can just tell people "I'm going to meet a bunch of friends I met ____ {fill in the blank, I tell the people that don't know I'm gay just 'online'}".

This won't be heralded in the newspaper, and I'm sure if you prefer not to have your picture taken or anything, people will agree - hey, we're all concerned about each other's well-being.

I know I thought long and hard about the consequences of coming out. And have taken baby steps until I finally got to the point that maybe you are reaching - who cares? I know that everyone I've told has been 100% supportive. Many have wanted to actually talk about how it was in the closet and expressed shock about how awful it is to live with the thought that someone might FIND OUT!!! Even the ones who were involved with me in scouting heaved a collective shrug.

The Spo-a-thon is being held in Lewes, Delaware, a picturesque little town near the ocean on the eastern shore of Delaware. The dates are March 22 thru 24 (or as long as you can stay). Urspo, a blogger in AZ is, for reasons unknown to me, the "guest of honor" but it's more of a way to get to know each other. We're up to 23 people, including at least one straight couple who frequent our blogs, as well as a straight woman who is also a regular. Everyone is invited, no need to be a "regular" anywhere. We just want to have fun. I'd say ages range from late 30's to 84.

The road isn't that bad, randy, and I'm glad you're feeling good about it. Something like Spo-a-thon might be a way to talk to folks about how to come out, how it feels, what to expect.

Shoot me an email, man, love to go on and on!

Peace <3
Jay
