Remembering Tommy....

I guess I'm blowing up your mailbox as I leave comments on 2+ year old posts that have to be moderated, but I had a friend in 6-7-8th grade that I crushed on. We were best friends, and even after I moved halfway through 8th grade, we remained friends for many, many years, and in 1999 reconnected only for him to come out to me (and vice-versa, he was one of the few people at that time I could say that to). We rekindled the friendship, and stayed very close until his untimely death 4 years later due to what I believe were complications of HIV/AIDS. Sadly, I've lost touch with his partner at the time he died, and his previous partner, whom I actually knew somewhat better after having stayed with them for about 2 months while house hunting on a move back to SC.

It always hurts when you lose a friend, even one whom you've not seen or heard from in years.

Peace <3

Hi Jay;
I really am enjoying this revisiting of past posts. As you likely know, there is often a lot more said in the mind and heart than ever gets to the page when we post, and this is true here of Tommy.
It's a bit startling to realize that such a great person has left us, but more, to realize that the opportunity I may have had to be a part of his life is also gone.
I still see his mom when she walks her little dog. She's a sweetheart!

Smiles,
