Ok, I'm tired of it. Give it a break!

At what point is enough enough? At what level of indecency, veiled racism, and out and out rude behavior is enough for those who don't particularly care for the ways and manner of our current leader? I get emails every day, I hear people talk, and don't even mention "focks news" - who rutinely fock up anything they bother to bring to the attention of the viewing public. The flat simple fact is I'm too damn tired of hearing it. Cut the guy some slack! Do I like everything he's done? No! But, then if I look at everything I've done I find there are things I don't like there either. The constant badgering is not only ruthless, but truthless. I get these "do you know..." emails that turn out to be exagerations at best, and usually simple inuendo. I want the truth. Fighting against a policy or group of ideas with lies lessens the one beneath the other. Yes, I know, he didn't live up to everything he said he would do. You seem somehow surprised. Why? The saying goes "there are lies, damn lies, and political promises." The simple truth of the matter is that I would just love to see what could happen if one of our leaders actually could acheive something without having to bribe Senator ______ or buy half of his own party, etc. I want to see some proposals go to the vote and people say, 'yeah, that could work'. They sell their votes without a thought towards shame, and then blame and squeel about someone else for 'not accomplishing' all thier purported goals. Let's cut to the chase: Obama is our leader. He represents the country, he leads our hopes for the future, and his every decision is going to effect our future. I want someone who won't be afraid to say something becuase he will be ripped simply for speaking. We don't have to agree with everything he says; that's the great thing about this country. But, have some intelligence in your argument against his policy decision. If you aren't smart enough to say something with intelligence and facts, I'd really rather you just shut the hell up. thank you. -randy.

Hear, hear. We are going to the dogs, fast. But we do bring it on ourselves by listening to the rabble rousers. We will get what we deserve, so I am not looking forward to it.

I have never seen a president or congressman that does everything they say they will, its part of the game they play..... many times i have seen the president put down because he doesn't do what he said he was going to do... most of the time he cant because of congress... and the president gets the blame... even when he does get what he wants, congress attaches all kind of crap to the bill.

the president is restricted to two elected terms, i think this should apply to every member of congress... that would at least slow down the old boy network...

Hello to you Mr. Anonymouses;
Thank you so much for commenting. I thought I may have slipped over the edge a bit there.
I do agree that this country is slipping...but I don't see it as our own fault. The common joe-schmoe really has very little pull. When it is considered customary to rate a politician by his money gathering ability during his run rather than his stand on the issues, is it a surprise to find we are governed by white-collared crooks and charlatans? The common man just wants to go to work, home to his loved ones, and watch sports on a 60-inch plasma.
One thing I fear with term limits....the benefits we pay to these millionaires. Why? They get the best of everything when they leave office and it really doesn't matter how poorly they did. But, I agree that these little fiefdoms within the congress need to come to an end. We need a leader who can and will lead. I'm all for the phrase "lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way you showboat!"
oops, back on the soapbox so quickly. Thanks again... -randy.

Hello Randy. I take a few days off and you come out with a huge important post. I wish I could subscribe. Want a few of my thoughts, Ok here is one.

It will only get better when we educate all the people, but mostly make sure that the Public..yes the masses..understand their government, the way it works..the rights they have and need to protect. That includes the true way the judicial branch is to work, free from influence. Our government is broken because we have let our involvement in it go way down. We have let the bad guys get the upper hand. Now they have changed the laws to suit their needs, not ours. We need to work to make things better and more inclusive now.

So we need education and then involvement by and for the masses. The people.

Hugs from Scottie

Hi Scottie;
Thanks for coming... I agree with your statements but find myself shrugging with a loss of direction. Now what? is the thought running through my mind.
Our laws are so convoluted even the "experts" don't understand many. Our ways of doing things is subverted by pacs and special interests with big money. They got me there.... And finally, like I said above, most people seem to just want to be left alone. We live like sheep and the wolves have the controls...how's that for frightening?
