Hello My Friends;
  I'm not normally at a loss for words.  I love this blog, because I get to spout my little opinions and act like I know what I'm talking about.  But, there are some things going on that I really want in the light to you all out there.  I hope you will talk about these things with others, and encourage people to think about the end result of that bit of vengence they choose to exercise.
  What I'm talking about is the manner in which we as Americans treat so called "Sex Offenders".

  The interesting thing about a sex offense:  Unless there is a death involved, everyone does walk away from it.  Is it acceptable and/or right for people to abuse one another?  Of course not, and I would never be a proponent in any form of that.  But, I'm also unwilling to believe that a person is satan for having problems manifesting in sex offenses.
  I received a comment recently that has had me bothered all week.  I can't seem to concentrate on other things and I guess I find myself quite frightened by the future of this type of hatred.  Please see this very passionate comment:  ((HERE))

  There are some who justifiably wish to protect children, women, the weak in general.  It is laudible and appropriate.  What seems to me to have happened is that these same have lost that small part of humanity which says that a person punished is justified in restarting his/her life.

My friends; what happens when this type of vengence is pushed further?  It will, you know.  Oh, it might not look the same, but when one goes down a certain road, the things that are difficult at first become easier.  So, what happens when it isn't the sex offender, but the domestic abuser?  What happens when it is the crack dealer?  Should we really care if the drunk driver is put on such restrictions?
  You see, I have these questions:  What is the recidivism rates - the repeat offender rates - for the person convicted of domestic abuse?   What is the recidivism rate of the drunk driver?  The crack or meth dealer?  These are real questions, and I wonder if any of you can find that for me.

  I have a wonderful friend who to this day deals with the after effects of domestic abuse.  I have friends who are no longer with us due to drunk drivers.  And, I have lost family to drug abuse.  Do we just not care for these people?  Or, are we so against sex offenders that we are willing to destroy them?

  I hope you will all voice your thoughts here...even if you don't agree with me.  That's ok.  But, people; we need to help people not put them under bridges like lepers.

hugs;
randy.

Hello Randy. The sad fact is the goal of protecting children and the weak doesn't match the "solutions" these people have come up with. The proscriptions against "sex offenders" do not make anyone safer.

Also to your second point, it is already happening that now political leaders, who got such mileage out "being Tough and protecting children" are now trying to get votes by adding other categories of criminals who need to be on a registry and have neighborhood notifications made when they move it.

One group that a law has already been passed about was Murderers. As anyone who reads my blog knows I think Murder is the very worse thing you can do to harm anyone. If you murder a child, a woman, a teen, a male, they wont get over it. They wont heal, they wont get better. They wont have a life.

But lets look at what privacy rights, what other search and seizure rights, what due process rights we gave up after 9 /11 . The ill names patriot act deprived us of many rights, yet no one seems to really care.

Strange isn't it? Hugs.

A Second thought. How twisted would any person, any animal , any being become if constantly hounded and harassed. I am sure I have read stories of people being pushed right over the edge due to such stuff. So how in the world do we expect people subjected to this treatment to be rehabilitated and a productive member of society. Again loves and hugs.

Hello Randy
It seems to be a sad fact that human nature demands an 'underclass' that can be victimised, to allow the 'normal' masses to feel better about themselves. And what politician, as Scottie says, is going to do anything other than jump on the bandwagon and glean meretricious credit and a few more votes? And, of course, what better underclass to kick over and over than those any 'right-thinking' person automatically despises, sex offenders. I can't envisage any way this situation is ever going to improve - unless someone can come up with a way of changing the conditioned, unthinking responses this subject elicits.

Love & bet wishes

Hi Sammy and Hi Scottie;
Thank you for your additions. My hope is that people will begin to see that bandwagon for the ride to hell that it really is.
One day people will either grow up or destroy themselves. Perhaps that is the only hope.
hugs

Hi.

Mind thinking about what can be done about that?
We can - and should - call this kind of revenge what it is: Bullying - of the most inhuman kind
What society does, is ACCEPTING this bullying, instead of fighting it, by actively calling it bullying. Of course not calling them haters names like "Fu..you." or something else.
But calling them what they are: Bullies and hatespreaders - of the most inhuman kind.

Hope for the better is not enough to do against any bullying and hatespreading!

And we should tell them something else: They are not - NOT - acting in the name of Christ, and can NOT call their hateful mistreating of people "Christian" - What they soo selectively spread, is the hate of the Oldtestamentarian God.

Jesus Christ doesn't condone hate.

So, if we want to call ourselves Christians, we should not do either!

Oldtestamentarian Leaders - hatespreaders - don't really recognize, that they are just "USED" by GOP and Tea-Party members for winning members for the aims of GOP and tea-Party members --- and GOP and TeaParty members act solely for their own benefit - - - and for the financial benefit of the big elephants.

hugs

Hi Miles;
I have found it so interesting that the history of this country that the GOP would tell you is a "Christian" country of origin is so littered and driven of hate filled men. And yet, your words come through so obvious and dear: Jesus Christ doesn't condone hate.
We have some incredibly misguided people here. We truly do.
hugs, my friend;

Hello. This is in response to the statements on your site. I agree that we are persecuting one group of people in this country without any kind of consideration to our rights. Our churches teach hate, our schools teach hate, our government teaches hate and our families teach hate. If anyone would look very carefully at what they are saying about they cannot accept certain people for who they are! If I remember my New Testament Scripture, and I think I do, Jesus said "to love the Lord your God with all your might, mind and strength and your neighbor as yourself". It seems to me that there is an awfully lot of not doing that going around! It is time for us to consider, all of us, to put this teaching and everyday practice!!! Thank you for letting me sound off against this obvious injustice.

Hello Beetle;
You are welcome to sound off any time you like. And, you are quite right.
As I read your comment, I thought about the price we pay, as a person, a people and a community, even as a country, when we are so wrapped up in hate. The old proverb of first digging two graves when setting out to revenge seems close.... it destroys the person with vengence on his mind and in his heart. But oddly, we seem a people needing to hate.
Thank you again for visiting and your comments. You are always welcome here.
